DRes 4 Responsibilities

Reserve Pension Project (RPP)

In 1998 the government accepted a SCONDVA recommendation that DND pursue initiatives to implement a Reserve Pension Project (RPP). This is now being done concurrently with the Modernization of the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act (CFSA). The parallel paths of these two projects is necessary to the development of the RPP, as pension entitlements are intended be based on full and part-time employment vice membership in the regular or reserve force. The RPP will also be designed to accommodate the part-time employment condition of the majority of reservists. The expected implementation timeframe for the RPP is late 2004, with retroactivity to September 1999. For details, visit their above link.

SISIP and the Reserves

SISIP has been providing financial products and services exclusively to serving and retired military community, including the reserves, for over 30 years. In the past 10 years, SISIP has experienced sustained growth as it strives to meet the expanding needs of the serving and former members of the Canadian Forces and their families. Historically the use of SISIP services by reservists has been somewhat limited. To explore their expanding range of insurance and financial services available, follow the above link.
